Visa first — then the itinerary

Israelis need a Vietnam e-Visa for up to 90 days. If the whole trip stays inside Vietnam, single entry is enough. If you'll hop to Cambodia or Laos and return — choose multiple entry (government fee $50 instead of $25).

The north — Hanoi, Ha Long, Sapa

Hanoi is urban and chaotic, Ha Long Bay is the postcard, Sapa is for mountains and rice terraces. Climate is better in spring and autumn; winter can be cold and damp. Food: pho, bun cha, egg coffee.

The south — Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong

Ho Chi Minh City is buzzier, hot year-round, with the Cu Chi tunnels and Mekong Delta a short trip away. November–April is drier. Food: banh mi, spring rolls, tropical fruit.

You can do both

A cheap domestic flight links Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in a day. Two weeks is enough for north+centre (Hoi An) or south+centre. The 90 days start from the entry date on the form — pick it from your first flight, not from approval.

Entry rules change frequently and the final decision always rests with border authorities. Always verify with an official source close to your travel date.
