Israeli passport holders need an ETA to enter the UK, as well as Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man — for tourism, visiting family, business, or transit. The ETA isn't a visa: it's a lighter-weight travel authorization, tied to your passport, valid for 2 years or until your passport expires (whichever is sooner), and lets you travel as many times as you like during that period, each stay up to 6 months.

Is this a visa?
No — the ETA is a travel authorization, lighter than a visa. gov.uk is explicit about this distinction, and we keep the same distinction throughout our site.
Can I speed up processing for an extra fee?
No. There is no official expedited service for the ETA — any site offering 'faster issuance' for an extra government fee isn't being accurate. The standard time (usually 1 day, up to 3 working days) is all there is.
How many trips can I take on one ETA?
As many as you like, as long as the ETA is valid (up to 2 years, or until your passport expires) — each individual stay up to 6 months.

Two years of validity and multiple trips
The ETA is valid for 2 years from the date of approval, or until the passport you applied with expires — whichever comes first. It's linked to that specific passport, so if you renew your passport you'll need a new ETA. During the validity period you can enter the UK as many times as you like, with each individual stay lasting up to 6 months. That's why it pays to apply with a passport that has plenty of validity left.
There is no express service — and the common causes of delay
Processing an ETA usually takes 1 day, and sometimes up to 3 working days. There is no official way to speed it up — any site promising "faster issuance" for an extra government fee simply isn't accurate. The most common cause of delay is actually human error: a wrong passport detail or a selfie photo that doesn't meet the requirements. That's exactly why we manually check the details and photos before filing, so the application goes through correctly the first time. We recommend applying a few days before you travel, to be safe.
What if the ETA is refused — and dual nationality
Most applications are approved, but refusal is possible if you have a criminal record, previous UK travel with violations, or incorrect form details. If refused you'll receive a notice — the decision rests solely with the Home Office. If rejected due to an error in your details, you may be able to reapply after correction; in complex cases a visa or legal advice may be required.
Dual nationality: the ETA is linked to the passport you applied with. If you also hold a British or EU passport, check in advance which passport you'll enter on — you may not need an ETA at all. Don't apply for an ETA on an Israeli passport if you'll actually enter on another passport.
